Koester House Museum & Gardens
Step into the elegance of the late 1800s at the Koester House Museum. Built in 1873, this beautifully preserved Victorian home tells the story of the Koester family, whose love and vision shaped Marysville's rich history. Stroll through the enchanting gardens, featuring 12 exquisite white zinc statues thoughtfully selected by Charles Koester. Explore the legacy of three generations who lived in the home through captivating artifacts, heartfelt stories, and the charm of this historic treasure.
Marysville Union Pacific Depot Preservation Society
Located in Marysville, Kansas, a city designated by the Union Pacific Railroad as a "Traintown USA", the Historic Depot is a great place for friends and families to gather and learn about the history of the railroad and how it shaped the future of Marysville. The First Rail Laid in the Kansas Territory was part of the Elwood and Marysville Railroad… An outstanding collection of model railroad locomotives and train cars that give visitors an educational overview of the “family tree of the Union Pacific Railroad”.
Pony Express Barn & Museum
The Pony Express Barn and Museum traces its roots to the very beginnings of Marysville’s history as a key stop along the Pony Express route during Westward Expansion. Built in 1859-60 by Joseph Cottrell and Hank Williams, the barn was originally a blacksmith shop, vital to the pioneers and travelers moving westward. Constructed from native limestone, it was built to endure the test of time, becoming a lasting symbol of innovation and resilience.
The Marshall County Historical Society
Founded in 1971, the Marshall County Historical Society was created by local history enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the unique past of our community. The courthouse now serves as the home of the Marshall County Historical Society’s museum and research library, where visitors can explore artifacts, documents, and stories from our county’s past. With over 20 display rooms and a variety of community events, the Society continues to offer a place for both learning and reflection, keeping Marshall County’s history alive for future generations.

Marysville City Park
When the weather is nice, take a stroll around the Marysville City Park! Our park is massive and includes a large playground, plenty of shaded areas including two shelter houses, picnic tables and benches, a 9-hole disc gold course, tennis, and an RV park. Every summer, the Marysville Aquatic Center is also open to the public. And do not leave Marysville without getting a glimpse of the infamous black squirrels running all over town!
